ACP Magazines’ two iconic
mastheads, The Australian Women’s Weekly
and Woman’s Day, have reaffirmed they
are the country’s undisputed favourite magazines.
The Australian Women’s Weekly gained readers both period-on-period and year-on-year,
now reaching 2,188,000 people with each issue. The gap on its nearest monthly
rivals is 321,000 (Better Homes & Gardens) and 1,237,000 (Super Food
Ideas).
Woman’s Day
is Australia’s
only other magazine with readership over 2 million. Its success is best
measured by how well it compares to New Idea.
Woman’s Day
has increased its lead over New Idea by 142,000 during the last 12 months as
the latter’s readership plummeted -13.4%. New Idea’s 232,000 readership decline
is by far the biggest drop of any magazine in the country. Woman’s Day has widened the gap to an extraordinary 512,000 people
every week with New Idea hovering just above 1.5 million.
Phil Scott, Group Publishing
Director of ACP Magazines, said: “The appeal of The Australian Women’s Weekly and Woman’s Day is amazing. Between them they are read by 5.1 million
people every month*. We have two of the
best editors in the country tirelessly searching for the best stories, and
clearly readers like it.”
